Genna Watson
Genna Watson is an award-winning artist, sculptor and educator. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland and received a BFA from the Maryland Institute of Art and an MFA from the University of Wisconsin. She has shown numerous times at major galleries and museums including the Washington Project for the Arts, George Mason University, The Corcoran Gallery of Art and the Katzen Art Center. In addition, her work has been featured in many publications including Sculpture Magazine and Art in America. Edward Lucie-Smith included her in American Art Now first published by William Morrow and Company in 1985.
Through an additive-layered process, she develops works that calls attention to the complex, unknowable sides of the human condition. First through life size human figures and then with abstract imagery, the complexity of the human psyche has remained a consistent thread.
